There are actually two types of medical schools :

Allopathic Medical School (AAMC site): disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the entire body, which grants the M.D. degree

OR

Osteopathic Medical School (AAMC site):  emphasis on the musculoskeletal system with a holistic approach to patient care, which grants the D.O. degree to become physicians.
